Fate the winx saga : Tecna's arrival chapter 6
It took me a while to post this but here is the sixth chapter of my fanfiction about Fate the Winx Saga.
“There you
are!” Beatrix said as she pulled Tecna into the garage. Beatrix had a sour look
on her face as she lit up a cigarette. Andreas and his students quickly left
and Tecna and Beatrix were left alone. The remnants of their secret mission
were swiftly cleaned up as they strode right past Tecna.
“Don’t
fucking mind them. They’re just idiots, following bogus orders,” Bea said as
Teca could feel Andreas’ gaze burn into her back from afar.
The man had
the eyes of a hawk and the ears of one too, if you had to believe the rumors.
“And you
called me here for…?”
“You’re my
friend, of course I texted you,” Beatrix said as she sighed.
Another
friend? So soon? Tecna thought as her mouth fell open a little. “In that case,
can I offer you some advice?” Tecna asked as she went to sit beside Beatrix and
took the cigarette out of her hand to put it out.
“Hey!”
Beatrix said and small blasts of lightning erupted from her fingers.
“Those
things will kill you, Bea,” Tecna said, and she saw Beatrix’s face lit up as
she used the nickname. “Besides, who cares if they are following bogus orders.
They’re the idiots and do you know what fucking smart people would do?” Tecna
asked as she pulled Beatrix up to her feet. “They would get a fucking drink and
enjoy their evening.”
“I thought
you didn’t drink,” Beatrix said as they walked out of the garage with their
arms hooked into each other and into the puddles the rain had left behind.
“Not much.
Just on special occasions and with friends. Besides, I like remembering what
idiotic things drunk classmates do when I’m the only one sober.”
“I like
you,” Bea said with a smile, but her attention was called away as she looked at
the ripples in a puddle that appeared out of nowhere. She let an electric
current run over it and Stella appeared on top of it. The remnants of her
illusion quickly drifted away, and her cheeks turned bright red from shame.
“That’s
funny. She said the same thing to me and afterwards lied to me,” Tecna said
laughingly as she pointed at Stella. “I thought you needed to go and do
something with Bloom and Aisha.”
Interest
flashed over Bea’s face and a guilty look appeared on Stella’s as she looked
around her trying to come up with an excuse.
Tecna shook
her head. Of course it wasn’t that easy to make friends, she thought with a
disappointed look on her face. Everyone had secrets and Tecna was the first to
admit that, but that didn’t mean that it didn’t hurt when someone lied to you.
“I…I… the
two of you can’t say this to anyone,” Stella said as she took a step closer.
“It’s really embarrassing.”
“Do you
think we can be silent, Tecna?” Bea said as she looked at Tecna and laughed
wickedly.
“I don’t
know. That depends on what the secret is,” Tecna answered with a smile.
“I was
looking at sky!” Stella nearly screamed out.
“Yeah that
is embarrassing,” Bea said as she scoffed at the thought alone.
“Sky? Why?”
Tecna asked as she grabbed Stella by the arm and hooked her other arm into
Stella’s before continuing their walk together. “I thought you were over it.”
“I thought
so too,” Stella whispered, “especially when my suitemate is his new girlfriend.”
“And I
thought that crocks were out of fashion,” Bea remarked as she looked at
Stella’s footwear, if she would even classify it as proper footwear.
“Yeah well
they’re comfortable,” Stella said as silently apologized to Tecna. “What are
the two you going to do?”
“We’re
going to the library,” Tecna said and she could feel Bea’s resistance. “Why
there?”
“Because
all the books are there and you told me you would show me all the secret magic
shit that this school had to offer just a few days ago, didn’t you?”
“Yes but we
don’t need to be in the library for that, then we would need to go to Rosalinds
office. Those are the interesting books, but we can’t. not right now.”
“Aren’t you
Rosalinds favorite secretary?” Stella asked and Tecna could feel Beatrixs
frustration grow stronger.
“A fucking
secretary! She promised me she would teach me all kinds of secret magic shit
and she refuses to. She’s too busy fawning all over bloom.”
“Well if
Roslind refuses to teach us then maybe we should help ourselves,” Tecna said as
she led her friends towards the library.
“Sounds
like fun,” Beatrix said with a smile. The thoughts of drinking were soon
forgotten but her smile quickly faded when she thought of her father.
Tecna could
tell that Beatrixs resolve weakened and she tugged her arm a little. She looked
to Stella’s side and saw the hesitation in her eyes.
“I have a secret,
and I need you both to keep it to yourselves.”
“I won’t
say a word to anyone,” Bea said with an innocent smile, but Stella raised her
perfectly plucked eyebrows and gave Tecna a knowing look.
“Me
neither,” Stella said as she smiled silently and squeezed in Tecna’s hand.
“I was sent
to Alfea for a reason.”
“And what
might that be?”
“Find out
the reason why fairies lost their wings,” Tecna whispered as she looked around
to make sure no one was around, “And to bring them back and not just blooms.”
Beatrix’s
pulled her lips into a thin line as she said : “You want to find out why
hundreds of years ago fairies lost their wings. you do realize that anyone who
was present when that happened is dead?”
“Do you
really think that is the only way of bringing them back?” Tecna said with a
loud laugh that roared in the back of her throat. “If that is what you fairies
belief then it’s no wonder why no one here was able to bring them back.”
“You say
that as if you know what having wings feels like,” Stella said as she tilted
her head. They had finally reached the empty library. They let go of each
other’s arms and walked into the empty halls with dozens of shelves filled with
books.
“I can only
imagine what it’s like, but I do know someone that knows what is to fly. Her
name is Digit and she’s my pixie.”
“Pixie?”
Beatrix yelled out in enthusiasm as her eyes started sparkling. “They’re still
alive? I thought the burned ones had destroyed all the pixie villages.”
“Shhht!”
Stella shushed Beatrix as she used her magic to see if there were other fairies
nearby that were using light magic to stay hidden.
“Not all of
them,” Tecna said with a thin smile as she let her purple mini laptop appear in
her hands.
She opened
it and a pair of wings appeared in the corner of the screen.
“It’s
alright Digit. You can come out now,” Tecna said as she put the laptop on one
of the big wooden tables.
“Have you
already revealed me?” Digit complained as she popped out of the screen and
landed next to the laptop.
“I’m sorry,
Digit but if we are to find out the truth then I need all of your help Tecna
said as she turned to Beatrix and Stella who were still in awe of the angry
looking pixie in front of them.
“Digit wasn’t
born yet when fairies started losing their wings, but her village elder was. If
we need to know anything about the history of it then we can either look
through these books or ask the pixie elder.”
“Why don’t
you ask Timmy for help?” Digit said as she flew up to Stella’s face and studied
her.
“Timmy! I
don’t need his help. This is our mission,” Tecna said with an indignant look.
“Timmy? As
in the other transfer student from Zenith?” Beatrix mused as she looked at how
Tecna’s cheeks brightened.
“The one
with the glasses?” Stella asked as she finally started to get used to seeing
Digit fly around them. “If he bought a different pair, he might actually be
cute.”
“Yes, the
other transfer student and no, he isn’t cute. No matter what glasses he wears,”
Tecna said quickly, but the two fairies didn’t believe her. They only smiled as
they looked at each other. “Besides, what can he help us with? “
“He’s quite
an adept hacker and has many other qualities you could use,” Digit said as she
flew to study Beatrix’s face.
“You like
him,” Stella said with a huge grin and Tecna could see how relieved she was to
not have to talk about Sky and Bloom anymore.
“I don’t
like him.”
“Yes you
do,” Beatrix continued as she could see Tecna getting redder by the minute. “He’s
Dane’s new roommate. I can ask his number for you.”
“I don’t
like Timmy!”
“Did you
need me?” Timmy’s laughing voice said and Tecna could feel her legs start to
tremble.
